So today we decided to give the new Westcott Ice Light a spin and show you guys how capable this light can be.
We figured we could highlight this light by showing you how fast and easy we can get a decent product photo with a few tricks.
Here are the items we used in this photoshoot:
1. Westcott Ice Light LED
2. Sony A7s
3. Canon 5d Mark III
4. Canon 100mm 2.8 IS L
5. Manfrotto 055xPROB Tripod with the Manfrotto MVH5000AH
6. Gray Shaggy Rug
We decided to use the gray shaggy rug as a nice textural contrast to the boring floor we had available.
We basically set the Sony A7s on the rug and then turned down the ambient light so that we could light paint.
Set the Canon 5d Mark III on the Manfrotto 055xPROB Tripod and Fluid Head and aimed the camera straight down
Our lens of choice today was the Canon 100mm 2.8 IS L Macro as it is a great product lens for details.
Inputted the following settings in the camera on Manual exposure mode: ISO100, f/11.0, 4 secs
Turned the Westcott Ice Light on and just lit around the camera full circle.
We tried a few different variations and got this final result.
Looks nice and professional and didn’t require any set up of studio lights.
That is a win in our book!
