Once a month, there is an awesome event that goes on at the Pasadena Rose Bowl.  Every 2nd Sunday of the month, a large collection of vendors that sell new and vintage items come to meet very eager people who are looking for that special something at the Flea Market.  10’s of thousands of people come in search of hidden treasures that they cannot find anywhere else.  It is like going to 300 garage sales but all in one location…. It is awesome! You must go out one day… Please note that you should bring a cart or a wagon for all of the items you will end up hoarding, I mean purchasing.

I wanted to do an informal comparison of the Canon 35mm 1.4 L and the Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art as they have been pretty hot topics about which is better.  Here at the shop, a lot of our renters have turned to the Sigma due to it’s price and outstanding Image Quality.  However, when I initially tested the Sigma out when we first got it, my conclusion was that there was a slight lag in the lens locking focus. It may not be noticeable for most shooters but it catch my attention. Later on it was backed up by a few of my very good photographer buddies.  If I was still shooting full time, I would put my money on the Canon, as it is my favorite lens and favorite focal length and the fact that it has very little weaknesses. We still recommend the Sigma to many of our customers because it will satisfy their needs most of the time.  As I am not trying to make this post about Canon VS Sigma, I posted some photos below taken with each lens at various settings. All shot on the Canon 6d.
