It is a pocket-sized DSLR-quality camera for your iPhone!!!
We’ve all been there where we took a great shot with our DSLR and we want to share it into Instagram, but it was too much work in that moment to import, edit, and export to do it.
The DxO ONE uses your iPhone as a control panel and proofing screen, the camera concentrates on taking pictures using its own lens and settings. It’s small and plugs right into your charging port. It offers more flexibility and control all the while staying within your iPhone for easy sharing.
This isn’t the only external camera to be introduced, but it is the best thus far. DxO’s camera has a 1 inch CMOS BSI sensor, which is the same size as the popular Nikon 1 mirrorless cameras. The lens is equivalent to a 32mm and has an impressive range from f/1.8 all the way up to f/11. For ISO performance, it is pretty impressive where it starts at 100 and goes all the way up to 51,200.
For video, you can shoot 1080p at 30fps and 720p at 120 fps. The point of this accessory is to stay in between the realms of the iPhone and DSLRs.
- 1 inch CMOS BSI sensor
- 32mm lens
- ISO: 100-51,200
- 1080p video at 30fps
- 720p video at 120fps
The DxO ONE even has SuperRAW which “takes four RAW images and merges them into one to bring you beautifully dynamic photos, even in extremely low light.” The camera can be used as a stand alone unit and also has its own microSD slot. For a camera that’s a few ounces heavy and 2.65 inches tall, this is pretty impressive. Right now, they’re taking pre-orders with the price of $599. Granted this is pretty steep for something you want to try, but is a cool option for those looking for a camera. Shipping begins in September. You can check out their website for more info here.
What do you think about this cool gadget? Would you buy it?
