The thing about business and photography/videography is that there’s a lot of moving parts that need to happen in order for things to go smoothly.

According to photographer Jeff Cable, he says that there should be 15 things that you think about before you take a photo. In this one hour and 10-minute lecture from B&H, Jeff talks about his process each time he sets up, frames, and shoots a picture.

The first thing Jeff thinks about before he takes a picture is resolution. He’ll ask himself questions like, what are you shooting? How large will the picture be printed and used? The rest of his lecture he talks about composition and everything in between. It’s a good way to make sure you go through the 15 things before taking that picture.

It’s very important that we stop and think about what and how we’re shooting. Taking the time to slow down makes us better, prepared photographers in the long run.
